Hannah A. Ard

Counsel to the Firm

Hannah Ard is an accomplished litigator who has dedicated her practice to representing clients in employment, commercial, and constitutional matters. She has represented numerous corporate clients in employment cases, including Title VII discrimination matters, ADA cases, potential USERRA violations, Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower cases, and non-compete cases. She is a former member of the Department of Justice’s Employment Discrimination Task Force and has experience giving presentations on various aspects of employment law.

Comfortable in both the litigation and advice spaces, Hannah has represented employers in Department of Labor investigations; discrimination, retaliation, and harassment claims; wage and hour disputes; and complaints filed with the EEOC and state and local administrative agencies.

Hannah also advises clients on the beginning and end of the employment relationship, and crafts offer letters, employment agreements, and confidentiality agreements, as well as severance packages. She helps clients comply with federal and state wage and hour laws and employee classifications under the FLSA and state law.

Representative Litigation

Obtained favorable settlements in employment discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour matters.
Defended a mortgage lender sued for hiring an employee subject to non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
Successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of a large marketing and data analytics company in a complex commercial case involving a disputed purchase agreement, ongoing patent disputes, and claims related to domain names under the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act.
Defeated class certification in a Telephone Consumer Protection Act putative class action. The plaintiff sued on behalf of a putative class of consumers against a large national sporting goods chain, alleging mass illegal text messaging and claiming $55 million in damages. The plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the case, with no payment.
