Security
At Lane Powell, protecting client data and securing client confidences are of paramount concern. We have always prioritized security and taken extra steps to ensure your critical data is protected, secured and available.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic, Lane Powell has transitioned to a remote work force, with nearly all firm personnel equipped with a laptop or desktop computer for working outside our physical offices. Those computers are configured with our hardened operating system and application image including local disk encryption, no local administrative access, and anti-virus protection, and can only connect to the firm’s network through a virtual private network (VPN) connection. That VPN connection, in turn, requires multi-factor authentication. All traffic must pass through our firewalls and is encrypted between the remote computer and the firm’s network.
In addition to the VPN requirement, all remote computers are configured to use Microsoft’s remote desktop protocol (RDP). That protocol provides a second encryption layer to desktop and server resources, before allowing remote workers to connect to designated on-site computers.
Should you have further questions regarding our data security measures, please do not hesitate to contact David D. Fairchild, Lane Powell’s Director of Information Technology.
