Bryan E. Powell

As Vice President of Lane Powell, Bryan Powell works closely with the President and the Board of Directors and also an experienced senior management team to lead the firm with a focus on innovative service offerings, outstanding client service, and recruiting and developing diverse talent. In his law practice, Bryan advises owners, developers, investors, and lenders on all aspects of real estate investment, development, financing, leasing, and operations. He has extensive experience counseling clients on industrial, office and retail mixed-use development, private/public redevelopment, seniors housing projects and real estate financing, including joint venturing, deal structuring, sales and acquisitions, leasing, and management.

Bryan routinely assists developer, investor and lender clients in business deal structuring and in finding creative financing solutions for challenging projects. He combines technical legal prowess with a practical approach to fully understand the parties’ business needs and objectives, enabling him to put complex deals together or orchestrate the restructuring of troubled projects with positive results.

Having represented numerous lenders and borrowers over the years, Bryan has broad experience in real estate finance, secured lending, workouts and loan restructuring. He has worked on a significant number of projects that have included financing with federal funds or agency insured programs; state and local financing incentives, including bond financing; and various tax-credit programs. Bryan is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, and a member of The Counselors of Real Estate®.

He is perennially listed for his work in Real Estate Law in The Best Lawyers in America®, Chambers® USA and in Oregon Super Lawyers®. Chambers® USA’s Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business describes Bryan as “highly respected by sources who note that ‘he is a deal-maker’” and as “an excellent real estate lawyer” with “a good, solid reputation” in the market. He is also described as being "very knowledgeable in the senior housing field.”
