Lane Powell is proud to announce that it has earned Mansfield Rule 6.0 Certification Plus status for 2023 from Diversity Lab. This marks a continuation of the firm’s Certification Plus status achievements in the past two years in Mansfield Rule 4.0 and 5.0. The Mansfield Rule program measures how women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ attorneys, and attorneys with disabilities are considered in a firm’s recruitment, promotion, pitches, and firm leadership role selection processes. The “Plus” certification indicates that Lane Powell has reached at least 30 percent underrepresented lawyer representation in current leadership roles, including the firm’s Board of Directors, Practice Team Leaders, and Equity Shareholder promotions, in addition to meeting the program’s baseline certification requirements.
Lane Powell President Barbara J. Duffy stated, “In our third consecutive year of earning Mansfield Rule Certification Plus status, we continue to take great pride in this achievement. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core tenets not only to how we operate as a firm, but to our vision for the entire legal profession as well. Enacting change to make our industry more diverse and equitable can only be done with real efforts from all of us in law. Now and in the years to come, we are committed to those efforts and to the Mansfield Rule program.”
Lane Powell Director of Professional Development and Diversity Kelly Jones added, “We are proud and honored to maintain our Certification Plus status. The Mansfield Rule is foundational to the industry’s drive to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession, and Lane Powell is dedicated to progressing these efforts.”
Looking ahead, Lane Powell is committed to continuing its participation in the upcoming Mansfield Rule 7.0 program.
