Joe Cerne has been announced as the Lewis & Clark Law School Small Business Legal Clinic’s 2021 Attorney of the Year in recognition of his dedication to providing pro bono work for low-income small business owners over the past four years.
One pro bono client shared, “I could not have asked for a more attentive, or dedicated person to work with. I felt more than supported by Joe. I felt like he really cared about how my company was protected.”
Additionally, Masa Yamaguchi was named as one of the Lewis & Clark Law School Small Business Legal Clinic’s Pro Bono Champions for 2021.
The Small Business Legal Clinic provides business transactional legal services to low-income small business owners, reducing legal barriers for individuals who have been historically disenfranchised. Since opening its doors in 2006, the Clinic has provided advice to more than 3,000 new and emerging businesses, of which 75 percent are owned by women, recent immigrants, and people from communities of color.
