Shirley Lou-Magnuson has joined Lane Powell as an Associate on the Labor, Employment & Benefits Team in Seattle.
Lou-Magnuson is an experienced litigator who dedicates her practice to defending public and private entities from civil and regulatory liability. She regularly represents public schools and universities, corporations, and financial institutions in labor and employment, banking regulation, and environmental disputes, as well as general corporate and transactional matters.
Lou-Magnuson has experience litigating before federal and state courts, administrative courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Washington State Human Rights Commission. Lou-Magnuson previously worked at a large aerospace company where she drafted, negotiated, and enforced multi-million dollar contracts in advanced manufacturing, information technology, and tooling commodities. Her time in-house has provided Lou-Magnuson with unique insights into the risk management and compliance needs of institutional clients, which she brings to bear in her practice.
Lou-Magnuson earned her J.D. from University of Hawai’i Williams S. Richardson School of Law, cum laude, and her B.A. in Economics and Asian Studies from Whitman College. She has native fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
