Katheryn Bradley will present “Conducting a Fair Investigation in the #MeToo and #HeToo Era” at the Washington Public Ports Association (WPPA)’s 2018 CLE Seminar, the WPPA’s Annual Meeting pre-conference event, on Tuesday, December 4. Almost a year after Time Magazine named the Silence Breakers of the #MeToo Movement its 2017 Person of the Year, a new movement began to emerge—the #HeToo Movement—which brings attention to the heightened fears men face of being falsely accused. Now, more than ever, companies are seeing an increase in the number of employee investigations, and the expectations of how to conduct those investigations have never been higher. In her insightful presentation, Bradley will share what public employers should be doing now to ensure that their workplace investigations are fair, impartial, and able to withstand scrutiny.
The WPPA CLE Seminar will bring together port officials, business executives and legal professionals to learn and discuss Washington’s changing employment laws and how to ensure compliance. The event will take place on December 4th from 1-5 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue.
