Christine Thelen has rejoined Lane Powell as Counsel to the Firm on the Labor, Employment & Benefits and Wage & Hour Teams. She previously worked as an Employment Attorney at Lane Powell from 2011-2012.
As a former Human Resources Consultant, Thelen brings to her practice a unique understanding of the challenges employers and HR professionals face, from workplace disputes and employee relation issues to compliant policies and practices.
Thelen advises employers and human resource professionals and provides training on an array of HR policy, compliance and employee relation issues, including:
- Challenging separation and disciplinary actions,
- Discrimination and harassment complaints and training,
- Employee handbooks and HR policies,
- Leaves of absence and ADA compliance,
- Wage and hour issues, and
- Manager training on mitigating risk.
In addition to providing advice, Thelen has represented employers in federal and state court, as well as before the EEOC and state fair labor practices agencies, in a variety of employment matters, including:
- Employment disputes,
- Employment discrimination,
- Whistleblower claims,
- Contract disputes, and
- State and federal regulatory matters.
Thelen received her J.D., cum laude, from Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law, and her B.A. in Government and Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
