Qingqing Miao has been appointed to serve as Co-Chair of the International Investment & Development Committee for the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law. Her term will begin in August 2018 and run for one year.
The committee covers topics relating to major international investments, including: economic reform and development facing emerging economies; barriers to international investment; developments in foreign assistance programs; the role of U.S. and multilateral assistance in promoting economic development and investment; developments in debt and equity markets to facilitate investment finance; privatization initiatives in developing economies; and the development of international norms and standards relating to civil society as they relate to investment and project finance issues. As Co-Chair, Miao will be responsible for the basic operations of the committee, including taking advantage of the committee’s knowledge to initiate projects of interest and keeping members informed and engaged.
