Lane Powell Shareholder Katheryn Bradley will present “Accommodating Psychiatric Disabilities in the Workplace” at the Alaska Bar Association’s Employment Law Section Meeting from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. During her presentation, Bradley will address an employer’s obligations under developing federal and state law to comply with laws governing disabilities in the workplace. She will focus on reported decisions in cases involving mental disabilities such asGambini v. Total Renal Care, Inc., 486 F.3d 1087 (9th Cir. 2007) and its progeny. Bradley will also discuss practical strategies for exploring whether an employee’s psychiatric disability may be reasonably accommodated during employment, including undue hardship and direct threat issues. The event will take place at the Alaska Bar Association’s office in Anchorage, Alaska.
