Barb Duffy, Lane Powell Shareholder, will serve as a panelist discussing “CMS Final Rule: Reform of Requirements for Long Term Care Facilities” at the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) 21st Annual Compliance Institute on Sunday, March 26 from 1:30–4:30 p.m.
The discussion will focus on analyzing the new Requirements of Participation (ROPs) for Long Term Care (LTC) Facilities and the three implementation phases; evaluating the ways in which the new ROPs are intended to improve the quality of life, care and services in LTC facilities and optimize resident safety, reflecting current professional standards and the role of compliance in meeting and maintaining these goals; examining the intersection between compliance and LTC facilities’ QAPI programs as identified in the ROPs; and strategizing about how to assure LTC facilities will be surveyed for the effectiveness of their compliance and ethics programs under the ROPs.
